Poor Walter always just happens to be around when I'm taking pictures of my hats. If he appears to be drowning in this hat it is simply because my head is ginormous and I have to make huge hats if I want them to fit me.

Buh...
...ter
We've finally figured out where Nils' name for Walter, (Buh) came from. It is an endearingly cute mispronunciation of of the first syllable of Walter's name. Recently Nils has added the second syllable to Walter's name, without changing the pronunciation of the first syllable. Meaning that he now calls Walter "Buh-ter."

Happy Birthday to us
Thursday was my birthday, and Friday was Jay's birthday. On Thursday I took the kids with me to get Jay's b-day present. On the way there I nearly got in a wreck. A lady made a right turn right in-front of me, so close that if I had hit her I would have T-boned her rather than rear-ended her.

Later that night Jay got home, and had a flat tire. There was a nail in his tire (seen above), so he had to take my car to work on Friday and I got to take his car to get the flat fixed.
Then, later that day, Nils decided that all of our healthy, lovely, promising seedlings just had to go. He ripped up all of our squash and zucchini plants except for two rather sickly zucchinis. Jay and I were both very upset about it because we were very excited about having a little garden.
Sigh, probably not the best birthday's we've ever had.
