Migratory birds

A Short video of our chickens, in all their city dwelling glory. They're watching me through the window, probably expecting me to come give them food. The chickens have since gone to spend the summer with Mormor and Morfar. The other day I went out to check on them and Penny (the smaller one) was flopped on the ground. I went to pick her up and she barely had the energy to run away from me at all and flopped over after taking a few steps. That was when I decided it was just too hot for them and sent them away for the summer.

More chicken fun

We've had the chickens for a little over two weeks. They've started laying eggs regularly (though one of them pecks them open if I don't collect it right away). The funny thing is how enamored Nils and Walter still are. They just can't get enough of watching the chickens, checking for eggs, feeding them, tormenting them, putting rocks in their water, showing me the feathers they find, etc. They're like the best pets ever!

On Friday we went to Prescott and Morfar cut all the wood for the chicken coop that I had planned. I crammed the cut pieces in my car and spent all day today building it. All it needs now is a coat of paint and some actual chickens to live in it.
