When he gets inconsolable I put him next to the dishwasher (or washer or dryer, depending on what needs to be run) and it calms him down pretty readily. I'm guessing this means my intestines sound like a dishwasher when you're right up next to them. Anyhow, last night after he stopped crying he fell asleep with his hands held up like that. I guess it's comfortable, or something.
