The day after I got the new boots for the kids I woke up to find Nils dressed like this. He pitched quite a fit when I told him that he couldn't wear the boots to school. On the other hand he didn't seem too torn up when I told him he couldn't wear the hat either.

Aren't the boots within the school color guidelines?
They do meet dress code (I think), but he can't wear them on PE days. And since the PE/Music/Art/Library schedule is rather random I make him dress so that he is prepared for PE everyday.
